IT Unit

In Västervik municipality, exciting work on digitalization is underway. To support this work, we are now creating a new cohesive unit for IT and digitalization. The unit will support the municipal group's operations in digitizing, streamlining, and changing working methods with the help of IT solutions.

We are now looking for an engaged employee who wants to contribute to strengthening our IT security and be an important part of the municipality's continued digital journey. This is a role for you who want to contribute to a secure and stable IT environment and work proactively to meet the increased need for security solutions from the municipality's administrations and municipal companies.

Your Tasks

As an IT technician focusing on security and monitoring, you will play a central role in implementing, maintaining, and further developing our IT security functions.

In close collaboration with our IT security coordinator and other employees, you will monitor the IT environment to identify and analyze security incidents. You will work on configuring our security and log management tools and conduct log and event analyses together with other technicians.

You will have an important role in handling and investigating IT security incidents, participating in vulnerability analyses, risk assessments, and security tests. You will follow up on security measures and report to responsible functions, while also contributing to the development of routines, processes, and governance documents. Collaboration with system owners and other IT functions is part of the work to strengthen proactive security efforts.

You will help build a culture where security awareness and safe behaviors are a natural part of everyday life.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone with a post-secondary education in IT or equivalent relevant work experience and competence in the field that we assess as equivalent. You have a good understanding of networks, log management, IT infrastructure, and extensive experience with Windows operating systems for both servers and clients, and preferably also Linux.

As a person, we seek someone who is self-driven, goal-oriented, has very good knowledge in the areas of the position, and is driven by development. It is important that you are service-oriented and communicative so that you can provide support in the questions that our operations have within your area. To succeed in the role, we also see that you have a strong problem-solving ability and always take personal responsibility for your tasks and drive your work independently.

It is important that you have good knowledge, both written and spoken, in Swedish. The position is constantly characterized by a thorough security and confidentiality mindset that you need to carry with you. For this position, you also need to have a B driver's license.
